Big turnout again despite a lot of riders being off to ride the Exmoor Beast.

A couple more pics here.

We both think too much.---There are two lessons here.---Yogis don't understand the word ''Cancelled'', and they still turn up even when there's no ride listed.

My plea to you is to stop thinking,--- before you end up like me,with your life having passed you by.

So little time;  so many rides to do.

Somebody wants you out of the way.  And that somebody is ''inside'' a certain yacht builder, and he or she is in a position to send you to the other hemisphere just to stop you riding the Dartmoor Classic. This he or she also didn't like the time you nearly collided with the Dartmoor Pony. They may also oppose Plymouth Argyle.

Keep a look out for someone who Profiles as an inferior competitor, probably a manager,a pony lover, and an Argylephobic.

The ride was listed...it's just in small print hidden next to the mountain bike rides.

Considering my bike is now dirtier than my MTB and the ride involved a bit of off road, and some riding down steps, this may have been a deliberate mistake!!  And to think on Friday I sat in my garden polishing each individual spoke....Definitely not a good time to wear white arm warmers or white shoes, eh Deb?

Always read the small print.

''Oh Teacher, are my lessons done ?   I cannot do another one''.----(ask your Dad, Holly---he will know the song).

Do you use your spokes like Prayer Beads-?     If so, please ask for a cure for my age related failing short range vision.

Sorry about all these comments----its just another Manic Sunday,--- wishing it was Monday.

I do appologies for the ickle bit of off road, I thought seeing as we where already caked in mud it would be abit of a nice change and to all the newbies we don't usually make a habit of mtbing on the road rides honest.Laughing Will have to stop at the Swan inn again some day,  they do a great homemade soup.

Is Chris S possibly going on about spokey dokies?

Ian, I wasn't complaining, I loved it!  Just wasn't loving the bike cleaning today... still, makes a new winter bike seem more and more reasonable... especially as Jez very kindly agreed to build it for me completely free of charge...

Ah spokey dokes, aren't those what Buddhists use on their prayer wheels?  Or was Chris talking about something you wear on your wrist?  Bangles maybe?.  This post doesn't really make much sense...I blame Chris.  As usual.

That's not exactly how I remember the conversation. I seem to remember offering a few of us to sit around with a glass of wine shouting instructions and "useful advice" whilst we watch you build the bike.

If you've got the spoint of cleaning spokes your conversion to the Dark Side is really complete.

I saw a similarity between this activity, and the cleaning of the individual spokes of a bike wheel.     I'm not aware of any religion which uses spokey dokeys in their devotions,---unless BMX riding is classed as a religion.

I know of one Buddist in our Club, but I observe that he uses Shimano wheels.

I think you'll find that there has been a Saturday Road every Saturday since we've started doing them every Saturday, even when the poor brow-beaten leader has attempted to cancel one ride they were still dragged from their bed kicking and screaming into the pouring rain. Yell

My advice is the same as last week - turn-up, somebody will no doubt be there, no matter what the weather.

As I said we had a big turnout of people despite loads being at the Exmoor Beast. Perhaps there is a conspiracy to keep rides secret and limit numbers?

Next Saturday, I won't be there but will be on secret manoeuvres with the MTB Fun Ride.

Well said Kim! Don't take any **** from anyone! It's good to see the YOGi don't need me around to cause Mayhem and Mischief! Wink

By the way, I've got my Cross bike now (very nice it is too!) so I'm just trying to get used to riding off road on a road bike with narrow, nobbly tyres at the moment - which isn't easy (man, why oh why, did I say I wanted to have a crack at the Three Peaks?!)... anyway, I should be out to get my hiny whooped by the YOGi train in a couple of weeks.
