Soggy Bottom MTB Race - who's racing?

Winter is well and truly here which means it's Soggy Bottom time!  So, who is racing on Sunday then?

You can enter online or on the day. Don't forget to enter under the club name YOGi and lets get everyone competing.

Soggy Bottom Mountain Race Series

 

Round 1  November 15th 2009

 

Round 2  January 10th 2010

 

Round 3  February 21st 2010

Round 4 March 14th 2010

 

 

 

The Soggy Bottom Series provides good quality fun racing at one of the UK's finest race venues - Newnham Park. There is a good prize package, plus this year the Hope Sh1t Shifter man will also be in attendance with bike wash facilities.

This year the series sees the return of the Bottom Border Battle between the best 10 riders from
Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, Dorset and Wales.

National Ranking Points for those riders with a BC Racing Licence. You do not need a licence to race though.

Age at
14/03/10 denotes your category for the series but please be aware if you are a licence holder you may need to switch categories to get all your ranking points if your age group changes.

Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 in all categories.

Schedule (age and laps in brackets, laps 1 less for female adult categories)
1000-Youth(15-16, 3), Juvenile(Under 14, 2), Fun(12+, 3),Grand Veterans (50+, 3).
1300 - Elite/Expert (19+ fast, 5), Sport (16+, 4), Masters (30+, 4), Veterans (40+, 4),

Sponsors include Certini, The Bike Cellar, Shred, Plymouth Cycle Scene, Silverfish, Accellerade and XCracer.com. Joolze Dymond will be official photographer for all 4 rounds.

Please pre-enter by the Wednesday of the event week to save money and make registration easier and quicker.

Best 3 rounds from 4 to count for the series awards/standings. All categories race over the same course.

 

Race details: The course will include two river crossings.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PRACTICE BEFORE RACE DAY- THEY
ARE SHOOTING AND THEY GET VERY UPSET WHEN LYCRA APPEARS IN THEIR SIGHTS!

Please ensure you arrive at least 30 minutes before your start time.

Schedule
0900 Registration/Practice/Cafe open
1000 Race 1 juvenile/youth/fun/grand veteran
1130 Practice Open
1200 Presentation race 1
1300 Race 2 elite/expert/sport/master/veteran
1500 Presentation race 2

 

Entry details: Downloadable entry form and online entry are now available. Online entry will now close midnight 12/11. There is a £1 per entry fee for online entries to cover costs. Enter online and check the list of pre entries here.

Please make sure you have signed on at race day at least 30 minutes before your chosen race. Keep your number-board for the series.

Title: How serious is the racing?

I was thinking of entering as I recently did the 30km at the Newnham60 and really enjoyed it.  However this sounds a lot more serious and I'm not ready for any racing.

I'm not sure if it was added on later but its certainly on the site now to enter..!! Its great for keepin away the winter blues. You all but 1  have a race per month up until the spring..!! Cool..!!

  I have decided to be a spectator and try out my new super duper camera with the big zoom lens....but I will cycle there.....its a shame you paid up frontFrown.....thanks for the offer though
