Cake Stop

"We want the finest wines available to humanity. We want them here and we want them now!"

Avon Mill – Loddiswell

Very good food and reasonably priced considering how much you get for your money. The one snag is that you might not be able to get back up the hill after over-indulging! It is a small garden centre but don’t be put off by that as the café is in the old mill.

Bovisand Café

Situated on the private road that runs along the front of the holiday chalets. Fine views out to sea.

Buckfast Abbey

Large cafeteria with a good selection of wholesome meals and cakes too.

Captain Jasper’s – Barbican, Plymouth

Good choice of baguette and bap based food plus large mugs of tea. Alfresco seating only.

Dartmoor Diner - Roborough

Formerly called the Green Café when it was a tiny little shed that seated 20. Has now morphed into an impressive establishment and is very popular with locals and hence usually very busy. Good food, and has some outside seating.

Jennycliff Café

Basic, fine if you like chips, not much in the way of cakes – you get the picture! Good position, nice if you can sit outside.

Yealmpton

On the main road – yet to try it, let me know if you have.

The View, Rame, coast road near Freathy, Cornwall

Take your credit card. This place has gone a bit up-market but still offers one of the best sea views IN THE WORLD. May not be open in winter.

Cliff Top Café, near Freathy, Cornwall

Much better alternative to 'The View'. Again the panorama is great, on a good day you'll have paragliders sailing over your head. Open all day, all year pretty much.

Seaton, Cornwall. Café on the beach with lots of additional outside seating. Not the greatest beach but the café’s okay.

Foxtor Café - Princetown

Very good. Plenty of seating outside and in, and they don't mind muddy mountain bikers neither.

Widdecombe

Tea shop city – take your pick. Very busy in Summer.

Manaton

Cream teas are usually available in the church hall during the Summer. A more relaxed alternative to the coach party that is Widdecombe.

Venus Cafés - Blackpool Sands and East Portlemouth

Quite expensive but then just look at the location!

White Hart Inn - Mortenhamstead

Tavistock

Lots of choice around the market and also in town.

Bob's East End Cafe - Tavistock Market

Plenty of seating, well enough for 30 YOGi's if you sit outside. Bob's a chirpy chap who's eyes light up on our approach!

Dukes - Tavistock Market

Excellent fayre and waitress service too. Highly recommended.
